Wardman West Residential (The Woodley) - Woodley Park, Washington, DC

Wardman West Residential, also known currently as The Woodley is a residential apartment building in Woodley Park, Washington DC. There are 2 and a half levels of parking below grade and 8 floors above grade with public space as well as 212 apartment units. The apartments range from Studio's to Three Bedroom two-story penthouse units. Along with the residential space, there is also a courtyard with an infinity pool, a fitness center, library, and resident's lounge.

The building is a concrete structure with brick, cast stone, and limestone as its veneer. The building is fitted out with top-notch finishes including hardwood floors, granite counter tops and stone tile imported from Turkey for use in the bathrooms. The main lobby, where you will find the library and lounge spaces are extremely intricate in coordination of material installation. The corridor that takes you from the main entrance to the courtyard is constructed of mill-work, plaster, and marble. The rooms on either side of this area are clad in wood paneling and mill-work detailing.

My responsibilities on this project ranged from reviewing plumbing and electrical stub ups in elevated concrete decks, to running punchlist and closing out the project. In between these two activities, I was also managing all of the finish trades and processing RFI's, submittals, and change orders. Part of my job managing the finish trades was to execute two apartment mockups. One was off-site off-structure in the adjacent hotel, and the other was on-site on-structure in a future apartment on the 4th floor.
